How to Search DeepSeek Chat History (Beyond Title Search)
DeepSeek has started rolling out a native chat history search — but as of 2026 it is title-based, not full-text. If you remember what a conversation was called, the built-in search helps. If you remember what was in it, you need another approach.
Method 1: Native Search Bar (Title-Based)
DeepSeek is rolling out a search bar in the sidebar — a "Search chat content" field on mobile (v2.1.0 and later) and a magnifying glass icon on web. Type a keyword and it lists matching conversations.
Two caveats: the feature is still in beta and has not reached every account — DeepSeek's own note says to update to the latest app version if it has not appeared for you. And matching is title-based: it finds conversations by their titles, not by searching inside message content.
Method 2: Scroll the Sidebar
The classic fallback: your past conversations sit in the left sidebar, newest first, listed by title. Fine for recent chats; impractical once titles blur together.
