Privacy Policy
ChatEngram is designed as a local-first extension. Your AI conversations stay on your device by default, and we only collect the minimum data needed to provide accounts, licensing, and billing.
1. Conversations and local data
- Your captured AI conversations and message content are stored locally in your browser.
- We do not upload your conversation content to our servers, and we do not send it to any third-party service.
- You can export or delete your local archive at any time using the controls in the ChatEngram dashboard.
2. Accounts, licensing, and billing
- If you create an account or purchase a Pro or Lifetime plan, we store basic account data such as your email address and license status.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full payment card details; Stripe handles that information on our behalf.
- We may store license records and subscription metadata in our own backend in order to activate and maintain your plan across devices.
3. Analytics and tracking
- ChatEngram does not embed third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the extension itself.
- Our backend services may keep standard server logs (for example, IP address and timestamps) for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
4. Data you send to integrations
- When you choose to sync conversations to tools like Obsidian, Notion, or Google Drive, ChatEngram sends your data directly from your browser to those services using the configuration you provide.
- Those services have their own privacy policies. Please review them to understand how they handle your data.
5. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we will update this page and, where appropriate, provide in-product notice.
